Hi!  I'm Hans Bartholdi and I started my yoga journey in about 2004 when I began attending Hatha classes in the local village hall.  I noticed a big improvement in my fitness levels and general wellbeing and that spurred me on to join a purpose build professional yoga studio and soon I was well and truly hooked!

Practicing yoga became part of my daily life, enjoying all the benefits that a yoga session had to offer me, from the sheer physical side of it, to the concentration required during the class and the really deep relaxation I gained the end.


I always left the classes feeling calm yet energised. However, I wanted more so I signed up for a 500 hour intensive teacher training course and became a fully qualified instructor by the start of 2013. I have been teaching Hatha yoga regularly since then.

I have had regular trips to yoga schools in India and attended master classes with some of the most renowned yoga teachers which has helped me grow my experience and develop a gentle and fun style of teaching.

I am sympathetic to the needs of the total beginner, yet equally able deliver a challenging dynamic class for the more experienced yogi. 

I will adjust my lessons as I teach, adapting the level and tempo according to the overall ability in the room.  I will layer individual asanas (postures) where possible, giving options from easy to more advanced, thus allowing each student to go to the point they feel comfortable with.


Occasionally though, I like to encourage people to bump themselves out of that comfort zone and to push their boundaries, which in turn helps them take the next steps on their own yoga path.

I am offering 75 minute Hatha Flow yoga classes in the Derwent room at the Urban Angel Therapy Centre for beginners and intermediates on Wednesdays at 1.30pm.

A session price is £12 per class.

Hatha is the traditional form of yoga from which all other yoga styles have derived. Flow yoga, sometimes called Vinyasa flow, is one of the most popular contemporary styles of yoga because of the smooth way the poses run together.


It incorporates all aspects of a traditional Hatha yoga class - breath, meditation and postures - while challenging and improving your co-ordination through movement. You will leave the class feeling relaxed yet energised!
